Colors and genetics. It seems we all love baby bunnies and want to have our own. I have been studing color genetics for 4 years and by no means do I have it all figured out. But I firmly believe you should first know what color of rabbit you have and how the color genetics work behind them.
I am going to work on the colors and genetics behind them. Pictures of just born babies and as they age. I highly recommend that you take pictures of you new kits as their wool is just coming in and getting color. Do you have a fawn or a lynx? Early pictures will help you to know what you have. A fawn isn't gong to be lilac as a new kit, but a lynx is. A cream isn't going to have dark brown eyes. If you are going to breed rabbits it is you job to correctly identify the color of the rabbits you place in homes. Know that some colors are called something different in angoras then in non wool rabbits.
You are not going to breed to self colored rabbits and get agouti or two non extension colors and get full extension colors. You aren't going to get black or blue from two brown rabbits or black from to blue rabbits.
We will start workig with the accepted colors, but include brokens, blue eyed whites, and harliquins as they are common in Angoras although non showable. There a lot of colors being worked on in Satins and Giants that are under COD.

It seems that most people get the tort colors confused, they confuse people. Tort, chocolate tort, blue tort and lilac tort or do I have a smutty fawn or just a fawn. I have some pictures of a chocolate tort and a fawn for comparison.
